Hello! I'm Ali Binns, a CBT therapist based in Bath. CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) is a form of counselling or psychotherapy which offers you a collaborative approach to handling life's difficult times. I offer a friendly, warm, non-judgemental and confidential space for you to talk things over. Whatever your emotional problems or difficulties, CBT may be able to help you.
CBT is so much more than just a listening ear. It's pro-active and educational. Often just talking about how you feel is not quite enough. Sometimes you need a few tools to nudge you forwards when life gets the better of you. With a CBT therapist you will have plenty of time to explore your problems, but you will also learn techniques and methods to help you to manage unhealthy negative emotions such as anxiety, depression, anger, guilt, as well as learn how to break free from unhelpful beliefs or behaviours which keep you stuck.
Working with you, I draw upon a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches including Mindfulness, Compassion Focused Therapy, Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Being able to draw upon a range of CBT-informed approaches helps us to find what works for you, to support you as you move towards the kind of valued life you would like to live.

For your peace of mind, I am a fully qualified counsellor and an accredited member of the National Counselling Society and am committed to regular supervision to ensure my work meets high standards.
