Ali Binns, CBT therapist, Bath

Ali Binns, CBT therapist, Bath

Hi and thanks for dropping by. Unfortunately I’m currently on a break to work on a new project and not taking on new therapy clients. If you’re interested in mindfulness training please feel free to get in touch and I will contact you with details of any workshops or courses I’m running.

I’m Ali Binns. I’m specifically and professionally trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT and REBT) and Mindfulness. Talking things through with a CBT therapist can really help you to see things clearly and put your life back where you want it to be. I offer a friendly, open, non-judgmental and confidential environment where you can talk through whatever is on your mind, and help you to work towards solving your problems.

I work using the ABC Model of CBT, which offers an open, educational and mystery-free form of therapy which enables you to learn to identify your beliefs and cycles of thoughts, feelings and behaviours and enable you to find ways to intervene and get back on an even keel. As therapy progresses you will become able to apply what you learn and use it to adapt and face life’s challenges. I use a variety of techniques drawn from CBT, REBT, Mindfulness, ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), Compassion Focused Therapy and CT (Cognitive Therapy).

Prior to retraining as a therapist, I worked for many years in various editorial roles in the publishing industry. As well as working as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and Mindfulness Teacher in Bath, I'm a mother to two teenage boys.

I am registered as a Senior Accredited therapist with The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society. As part of my work I undergo regular supervision, and I am committed to ongoing professional training and development. I am governed by the professional standards and ethics of the counselling and psychotherapy profession.

I regularly attend workshops to update and refresh my knowledge and skills, to ensure I am on top of new developments and the most effective treatments for clients.

You can also find me writing a monthly wellbeing column for In the Moment magazine, where I write a monthly feature on managing emotional wellbeing using mindfulness based techniques.
