Hello! I'm a accredited therapist based in Bath, specialising in CBT. Thank you for visiting my site. Unfortunately at the moment I am not taking on any therapy clients while I take a break to pursue a new project which I’m sure I’ll reveal here in good time.

I specialise in CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), and work as an integrative cognitive behavioural therapist in Bath, drawing on a variety of CBT methods such as Cognitive Therapy and Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT), as well as more recent CBT developments such as Compassion Focused Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (often referred to as ACT).

I am qualified to teach the Mindfulness Now 8 week mindfulness programme and I’m delighted to be able to offer this in small groups or if you prefer one-to-one. The Mindfulness Now programme is a complete start-up for anyone wanting to discover the benefits of mindfulness, and includes a variety of strategies as well as a sprinkling of ideas from cognitive therapy to help you to become more aware of your mind and manage your wellbeing. See the Mindfulness tab above for more about Mindfulness. If you’d like more information about the 8 week programme, please get in touch and I will supply details.

Feel free to get in touch to discuss how CBT can help you by emailing me at info@alibinns.co.uk

What is CBT?

CBT therapy helps you to understand how your beliefs and world views impact on your thoughts, feelings, behaviour and physical symptoms. Together we can unravel any problems you would like to work on, and help you to find a new resilience and a way forward.

I have a particular interest in with:

General anxiety (GAD)

Social anxiety (Click to read more about social anxiety)

Obsessive compulsive disorder (Click to read more about OCD)

Health anxiety (Click to read more about health anxiety)

Phobias

Low self esteem / self worth (Click to read more about self acceptance)

Panic attacks

Insomnia (Follow the link to read more about insomnia)

CBT is an evidence-based treatment recommended for the treatment of anxiety based problems and depression. It's also a practical treatment for targeting work and life stress, exam anxiety, IBS, public speaking anxiety and managing painful conditions (such as back pain). You can find out more about what I treat on my Q&A page

If you are interested in how other clients have found working with me, I have included a selection of comments on my Testimonials page. I am a Senior Accredited therapist and CBT counsellor registered with the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society.
